Carlie is Justin’s cousin and she married um….Robb who is hilarious!  Carlie and Robb then decided to have the cutest kids!  I was nervous we weren’t going to be able to use this location because there was a marathon going on that morning but it all worked out fine.  They are such a fun family and Robb always keeps us laughing.  Justin tagged along so he could spend a little time with them before we headed back to NC.  You’ll definitely see why I labeled them “the blue eyed family.”  Anyways, onto the pictures….

I hope this relationship will continue…I think it’s so cute….

Ethan wanted to run around as soon as we got to the location and he never wanted to stop.

Do you see any blue eyes?

Ethan would always do this when I could get his attention and Robb didn’t seem too proud.  I wonder where he learned the “turn your head to the side with a tilt and put your chin on your shoulder.”  Isn’t that what Paris Hilton does?  Who cares…he’s dang cute!

Chimney Rock

June 27, 2010

I’ve been meaning to sit down and get these posted because personal photos are always on the back burner for me but since Justin and Ruca are taking a nap right now I wanted to do it.  On Memorial Day we spent the day at Chimney Rock.  It took us about 2-2 1/2 hours to get there but it was worth it despite the rainy weather.  There are going to be a lot of photos and I didn’t want to take the time to create a collage so sorry for the overload!  Some I took with my point and shoot and some are with my SLR so if you think the picture doesn’t look the best….that would be the lovely point and shoot.

Does it look like the Devil’s head to you?

I have to explain this next picture.  When I called customer service at Chimney Rock the recording said….”People say a picture is worth a thousand words…but only one word will come to your mind when you are at Exclamation Point…..WOW!”  I told Justin we had to get a picture of our “WOW” faces.  His is pretty good compared to my look that looks more like I’m frightened.  Because it was so foggy we couldn’t really see anything but I’m sure it would’ve been beautiful.

I was really excited to see the waterfall.  This waterfall is the second largest on the east coast I believe and it’s only short of being the tallest by 7 or 8 feet.  It was beautiful.  I didn’t want to leave.  The view and the sound was just relaxing.

Of course when we were walking back to our car the sun decided to show itself.

Malan Family

This is another family that has been part of my life for quite some time.  Thankfully timing worked out so I could take their pictures before I headed back to NC.  They have a lot going on in their family this year.  Logan was just called to serve in the Raleigh NC mission!  Nate, Joni, Kennedi, and McCord will be moving to Iowa.  Poor Kennedi will be home all by herself but I’m sure she’ll keep her mom and dad busy!  Thank you for having such a wonderful influence in my life.  I’m excited for all your adventures coming up!

Now that I have all 4 chairs done I can post the change I made.  My in-laws were kind enough to give us their old dining table and chairs.  I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t change things up some way or another and after sitting on one of the chairs for awhile, it was causing some pain on my tush because of the flattened cushion.  I had been told to go to Mary Jo’s (fabric store), so when I had a day off from work I went down and found the perfect fabric on clearance I think for $3.00 or $4.00.  I can’t remember exactly but I was excited.  There would’ve been 1 yard left over from what I needed so I took that too.  Mary Jo’s has a lot of fabric and I’ve never been in a fabric store quite like it.  It reminded me a little of when you see designers (like on Trading Spaces) go into fabric stores and there are just roles and roles of fabric.  Anyways, I still have tons of things to post but some people keep telling me to post these.

That would be 3 inches of foam!!!!!!  Very nice to sit on.

Wendel Family

I miss having these neighbors! They are such a sweet family and have done so much for me and my whole family. Cynthia (the mother) is the one who makes the most delicious poppy-seed cake and she had a basket waiting for me and my mom when Justin and I flew out. She also made a basket full of them the day before I headed out to NC. She had stopped over right before I was heading to work and my emotions got the best of me realizing I was leaving people that have influenced my life so much. Dave (the father) is quite the prankster, handyman, and a gentleman that will do anything to help. Lindsey, I miss having our “Martha Stewart Days” and just having fun together. I’m so glad we were able to grow up together for a good portion of our lives. There’s not a day I don’t think about you. Aubree is an amazing artist and an ambitious girl. I can’t wait to see what she will become in life. Emileigh, you have grown so much since I’ve left! You are such a sweet girl! Ethan is just Ethan AKA Buddha to his family. He is a riot and always going 100mph. I hope you enjoy your photographs!
