Memorial Day

May 31, 2010

I wanted to see a cemetery (the first one created in Charlotte) on Saturday but there was no where to park since the Speed Street was going on for Nascar.  I have always found looking at headstones interesting especially those that have served our country.  I always figure out how old they were and if they are related to anyone else (I had to do a project in school about analyzing cemeteries).  There is so much history to be known so we will have to go there another time.  Today we went to Chimney Rock.  I will post more pictures of our adventure soon but wanted to share this particular one.  Short story….we went through a bad rainstorm getting to this place (it took a little over 2 hours to get there) and I debated turning around.  We got to the gate and sat there deciding “should we do it or go back home?”  My answer was “I didn’t want to drive all this way for nothing, we might as well go.”  We got rained on for a little bit at the start of our excursion but it wasn’t too bad.  The foggy clouds began to take over and I loved that even though every place I looked (other than the trail we were on) I couldn’t see anything….I could spot out the American flag.  I’m thankful for the men and women who have fought and are fighting for our country, America.  Thank you soldiers, for providing your service to our country.

I did not alter anything other than changing the hue a little bit.  It was seriously this foggy!!!!

Many more photos to post but here are just a few of 3 beautiful families.

Graysen

May 24, 2010

The day I heard my best friend Lindsey was pregnant I was so excited I couldn’t contain it.  I was so happy for her and her husband Kam.  There is hardship in the past for Lindsey that I don’t feel it is my place to tell but Graysen is a beautiful miracle I believe.  Sadness came over me though since I wasn’t going to be able to be there to welcome him into the new world (she wanted me to document his birth) because I moved.  Luckily he was born about a month before Justin and I went out to visit Utah so I could see him, hold him, and of course take pictures.  He is beautiful…but what can you expect when he has beautiful parents.  Lindsey, you are going to be a wonderful mother and I can’t wait to be able to visit you again.  I’ve been missing you both since the day we left for the airport.

Love this…..absolutely love this next one.

I’ve had a difficult time uploading certain files with the coloring looking funky – kind of dull like.  Let me know if they show like that on your computer so I’ll know I’ve fixed the problem.  Thanks!

I’m back

May 19, 2010

We got back late Sunday night…later than we were supposed to be. I have a slight bad attitude towards the Atlanta Georgia airport because every time I’ve been there I’ve had a problem! I guess the weather isn’t something they can control but waiting on the runway with 20 airplanes in front of us waiting to take off was annoying…especially for a 40 minute flight. Oh well. At least we made it home safely.
We enjoyed our time in Utah and I’ll be posting some pictures soon but I’ll leave you with one picture….this is pretty much straight out of the camera, just a slight S-curve adjustment.
